Funniest Storybook Ever by Richard Scarry
This was a brilliant book, it had lots of stories and they were good. I am only going to tell you about one story and that story is called Talking Bread. There was an old man who made bread. One of the loaves he made was haunted. It spoke, but after all it was just a doll. The stories were all very funny.

Germs by Ross Collins
Germs is a light hearted look about the effect germs have on you and how they can make you ill. One germ, Pox, does not want to make children ill so he comes up with a plan to stop the little girl, Myrtle, being ill on her birthday.
The book is informative, explaining how you get ill and what our bodies do to fight back.
Pox was my favourite character because he looked funny and was nice. He did not want to make Myrtle ill. I liked the colourful pictures and the funny drawings.
Some people may not like the dialogue used, for example ‘you numpty’ and the names given to the germs – Scab, Pus, Snot – but it will probably appeal to small children’s sense of humour.
Germs is a book for children, it is full of colourful pictures and the style of writing and language used is simple and easy to follow and is suitable for young children.

Hairy Hezekiah by Dick King-Smith
This is about a very, very hairy Bactrian camel trying to find a friend.
He escapes from his paddock and ends up at Shortseat Safari Park. He meets lots of animals on his journey like cows, lions and chimpanzees and he meets a best friend at the end.
This was a good book and I would definitely read it again. It made me laugh, especially the bit when Hairy Hezekiah drinks out of the toilet.

Just Like You Did – by Marjorie Newman
This is a story book and a picture book. It is for children 3, 4 and 5 years old and 6.
This book is about Tom and his new baby. I didn’t like it when Tom got angry and
miserable. I liked every single bit apart from that bit.
I don’t think this story is true. I want to read it again.

The Banana Machine by Alexander McCall Smith
The book was interesting and had some funny bits in it. Patty had good ideas and she was able to put them to use with the help of her cousin and aunt. Every time they got stuck with the invention of the banana machine they were able to help each other out, and solved the problems, giving the story a very happy ending.

Witch in Training by Maeve Friel
Once there was a thing in the sink. It was green and brown and it could change into anything. Mum doesn’t like pets and Peter needs the thing in the sink for a pet. The thing is weird, there is a part where he gets scared when the hand grabs something. I like this book because the thing can turn into anything.
