Ledbury Poetry Festival has a great Poetry Competition for Children and Young People
Closing Date – Thursday 10 June 2010
Brian Moses, the competition judge, is one of Britain’s favourite children’s poets. He says, “If you want to be a writer, write.”
More useful words of advice from the poet Ted Hughes: “Just look at it, touch it, smell it, listen to it, turn yourself into it. When you do this, the words look after themselves, like magic.”
You can enter your first poem for FREE and prizes range from £100 to book tokens. Also your poem will appear on the Ledbury Poetry Festival website. You can write about anything, but your poem must not be longer than 40 lines.
