Win

January 10th, 2009 · No Comments

The three winners of the nationwide story-writing competition Paper Cuts have been announced, with Sam Newman (16), Kate Baguley (16) and Molly Lambert (13) having their 100-word stories published in a special anthology.

The competition, sponsored by the NSPCC and supported by Penguin’s teen website Spinebreakers.co.uk, aimed to promote ChildLine – the free confidential 24hr helpline for children – a service provided by the children’s charity.

Author Nick Hornby, TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher, T4’s Rick Edwards and rising UK musical star Taio Cruz are just a few of the long line up of well known figures who penned their own Paper Cut and lent support to the campaign.

The winners were thrilled to be having their 100 words published and recorded by a celebrity. Sam’s has been read by Taio Cruz, Kate’s by Sandi Thom and Molly’s by Rick Edwards. To view the videos and find out more about the competition visit the Paper Cuts website.

Thanks to the Paper Cuts team we have two copies of the anthology to give away to Young Writer readers.

For your chance of winning just tell us which celebrity you would like to see featured in the Star Interview in a future issue of Young Writer. E-mail your answers to: youngwriter@writersnews.co.uk

Closing date: 6 February 2009. Winners will be picked at random from all entries. Entrants must be aged 18 or below. Editor’s decision is final.
